“Fade To Black”（黑暗中消逝）是关于死亡的，不过这是关于自杀的，被人们称为让人绝望致死的圣歌。整个歌词就是一份自杀者的遗书，不难看出这是一个年轻人。据说后来有个10几岁的男孩一边哼着这首歌一边行凶，结果乐队后来都不是很经常表演这首歌了。

一张一张专辑说吧。《Kill ’Em All》是第一张专辑，里面的Seek and Destroy是每次演唱会的保留曲目，很有力量。《Ride the Lightning》是第二张专辑，这张是我个人认为他们最经典的专辑，整张专辑都值得一听。Fight Fire with Fire，Ride the Lightning，For Whom the Bell Tolls，Creeping Death，首首经典，百听不厌。当然还有最牛逼的Fade to Black。《Master of Puppets》是第三张，整张专辑的节奏性和整体性都达到了另一个高度。其中专辑同名曲Master of Puppets很棒，中间的吉他SOLO确实很经典，转折处突兀又自然。Battery是很有力量的歌曲，The Thing That Should Not Be我个人很喜欢，尤其是中间喊出immortal的时候，那段节奏真的很有感觉。Orion 是一长段曲子，节奏很带感。Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 在我听来有点像LP早期。《...And Justice for All》是第四张，这张专辑里吉他声音有很大变化，我也不专业，具体也讲不清楚，但其实metallica每张专辑都在变。这张里最经典的当然是one，帮助他们获得了格莱美奖。这首歌的MV讲述的是一个战后受伤士兵的故事，还是很有意思的。另外这首歌的前奏很好听。其他的Blackened在04年法国的演唱会的时候是开场曲，Harvester of Sorrow也不错，专辑同名曲...And Justice for All倒是显得一般了。《Metallica》第五张乐队的同名作品，是乐队最后一张称得上经典的作品。其实个人以为只有二三两张能算经典。。这张专辑好听的歌曲不少，但是大多脱离了激流金属的风格，偏于流行了。Enter Sandman睡魔入侵在很多演唱会上都有，Nothing Else Matters虽然好听，看歌词更像是励志歌曲，Sad but True只能说凑合，但是这首的MV是在太2了，感觉就像乐队几个人站在秋千上晃来晃去。The Unforgiven也还可以，后来还有二三代。。如果你还喜欢流行，这张专辑你会喜欢的，如果你是喜欢激流和更深的死亡金属，你只会觉得它太软了。《Load》《Reload》同名专辑大红大紫，乐队开始了巡演，期间推出了这第六张和第七张，绝对是乐队的极大的败笔。这两张专辑完全偏于流行，乐队也剪去了长发，一个Load没玩够，还来个Reload，我觉得james在这个时候一定是脑残了，不过说起来自从Dave从Metallica出去建立了Megadeth之后，乐队就开始走下坡路了，毕竟Metallica是一支由贝司主导的乐队。这两张里有一首The Unforgiven II 还是可以听听的，其他的不推荐。《St. Anger》第八张专辑，有人把它捧上了天，有人把它骂得体无完肤，个人感觉不咋样，要是希望全面了解也可以尝试。《Death Magnetic》第九张也是最近的一张，乐队在总体上回到了原来的风格，但无奈廉颇老矣，总的来说专辑的质量并不高，就像某杂志说的那样，他们更像是在cosplay以前的自己，The Unforgiven III 也出到了第三代，跟前两代有很大不同，可以听听。Broken, Beat & Scarred我个人认为是专辑里最出彩的曲目。All Nightmare Long这首歌很长，也有很多人觉得不错，Suicide & Redemption是一首曲子，中间的变奏显然没有以前那么流畅了。其他的你也可以自己去听听，总的感觉是不如二三张，甚至赶不上第四张。说了这么多，其实激流金属你光听专辑是没意思的，还是看演唱会的视频什么的刺激，尤其是1989莫斯科红场和...And Justice for All这些早期的演唱会（再早的实在太难找了。。），你一定会爱上激流金属的。本人喜欢的是Megadeth，metallica刚接触激流的时候听的多。就说这些吧，有遗漏是肯定的，希望能对你有帮助。
